Hi, all! Just another quick update to let you know that I've finally wrapped up drawing the interiors of the comic–specifically the 8-page backup story–and it's going off to the printer at the end of the month!
So I should be receiving delivery of the books in December and fulfillment will begin immediately (yay!).
Here are some of the pages from the backup story (I didn't include the last few because of spoilers) so you can see what I've been drawing. :)
This is setting up some real world-building and backstory for the whole Death Transit universe, and I'm excited about it!
Almost all of you (92% in fact) have completed the Backerkit survey I sent out, which is great. If you haven't, please check your spam folders for the emails! This will confirm your shipping address and reward choices and I'll be able to package up your books immediately upon arrival.
I've got a small team helping me out this time so everything should go quickly and smoothly!
That's it for now! I'll post another update with pics of the books when they arrive! Until then, thanks again for your patience! This has taken a while to come together but I think it's going to be worth it!
I just backed this great-looking comic from Goats Flying Press. It's a new graphic novel by the amazing Juni Ba and Aditya Bidikar called The Fables of Erlking Wood.
The Fables of Erlking Wood is a century-spanning epic, exploring the intertwined lives and fates of the denizens of Erlking Wood, the many peoples, critters, and demigods that call it home, and the shadowy figure of the Erlking himself, an ancient entity who haunts the woods and is known to strike bargains with any brave enough to dare approach him, offering them their hearts' desire…but at a great cost.
Check it out Here!
Hey, all! Hope you’re having a great end of summer! I just wanted to give you a quick update on the DEATH TRANSIT TANAGER 2 progress.
The main story is COMPLETE! In fact, you can read the whole thing over on my website (along with issue 1) if you’re feeling impatient, but I promise it’ll look a lot nicer in print. :)
I’m working on the colour short story now, which should be wrapped up this month, and then the book will go off to the printer.
The stickers and enamel pins have arrived and they look great! I decided to go with a glitter effect on the stickers which I’m really happy with, and the pins are a smooth, hard enamel. I’ve already put one on my jacket.
I’ve started drawing the limited commissions for this campaign, so I’ll post them here for you to see when they’re done! There have been some really fun ones in this batch!
Last, but certainly not least - the BACKERKIT surveys will be going out soon! In order to complete your pledge process you’ll have to go to Backerkit, sign in, and verify your shipping address (I know some of you have moved). You’ll also be able to add stuff to your reward pledges if you missed out on any variant cover or prints that you might have wanted.
Thanks for your patience! I'm really happy with the way this issue has turned out and I'm excited for you to get it! Watch your email for those surveys and make sure to check your spam folders!
I did a pin-up for Derek Laufman's excellent CRIMSON FALL graphic novel that he's just launched on Kickstarter! It's funding right now and I can't recommend it more highly, so please check it out!
I can't thank you all enough. We blew through the initial funding goal in record time and raised enough money to not only create and print the comic, but make it even better!
If you backed at any reward tier with Jae's amazing cover, or if you added it on as an extra, you'll be getting this shiny, upgraded version. I'm really excited about this one - when we did it on the previous campaign it turned out really well and I was dying to do another one. :)
I'm finishing up the last few pages of the comic and also ordering the prints, posters, stickers, pins, etc. that will be going in all the orders. A bunch of this stuff is already on the way to my studio, so I'll update you with pics when they come in. Then we'll lock down a printing date for the actual books. I'm hoping to have the first batches go out the door in August!
Every Kickstarter campaign ends with a few credit card errors. Stuff happens. Expired cards, typos, what have you. Double-check your email and spam inboxes! If your card failed to process, Kickstarter will have sent you an email letting you know, so you can fix it before the cut-off time. If it doesn't get corrected I can't send out your comics, and that would suck.
And lastly...
I'm already working on some of the SKETCH COVERS, but if you ordered an ORIGINAL ART COMMISSION, I need to know what you want me to draw! I've made a Google Form you can fill out with details, reference, etc.

I think that's it for now! Once again, thank you for your continued support of my work! I have a million ideas for more DEATH TRANSIT stories and I plan to keep at it! Issue 3 is already underway!
More soon!
And, as promised, I'm back with one last art drop. These two pieces are the final original art pieces I'm doing for this campaign, and they're available NOW as Add-Ons!
We're only $3K away from the $65K Stretch Goal to upgrade Jae Lee's variant cover to a metallic CHROMIUM version, and I desperately want to see that happen. :) Tell your friends, and let's keep our fingers crossed for the remaining 24 HOURS!
