Summer Update!

Hey, all! Hope you’re having a great end of summer! I just wanted to give you a quick update on the DEATH TRANSIT TANAGER 2 progress.

The main story is COMPLETE! In fact, you can read the whole thing over on my website (along with issue 1) if you’re feeling impatient, but I promise it’ll look a lot nicer in print. :)

I’m working on the colour short story now, which should be wrapped up this month, and then the book will go off to the printer.

EXTRAS!

The stickers and enamel pins have arrived and they look great! I decided to go with a glitter effect on the stickers which I’m really happy with, and the pins are a smooth, hard enamel. I’ve already put one on my jacket.

Artwork

I’ve started drawing the limited commissions for this campaign, so I’ll post them here for you to see when they’re done! There have been some really fun ones in this batch!

Surveys!

Last, but certainly not least - the BACKERKIT surveys will be going out soon! In order to complete your pledge process you’ll have to go to Backerkit, sign in, and verify your shipping address (I know some of you have moved). You’ll also be able to add stuff to your reward pledges if you missed out on any variant cover or prints that you might have wanted.

Last But Not Least...

I did a pin-up for Derek Laufman's excellent CRIMSON FALL graphic novel that he's just launched on Kickstarter!  It's funding right now and I can't recommend it more highly, so please check it out!

WE DID IT!

I can't thank you all enough. We blew through the initial funding goal in record time and raised enough money to not only create and print the comic, but make it even better!

JAE LEE CHROMIUM COVER UNLOCKED!

If you backed at any reward tier with Jae's amazing cover, or if you added it on as an extra, you'll be getting this shiny, upgraded version. I'm really excited about this one - when we did it on the previous campaign it turned out really well and I was dying to do another one. :)

WHAT NOW?

I'm finishing up the last few pages of the comic and also ordering the prints, posters, stickers, pins, etc. that will be going in all the orders. A bunch of this stuff is already on the way to my studio, so I'll update you with pics when they come in. Then we'll lock down a printing date for the actual books. I'm hoping to have the first batches go out the door in August!

CARD ERRORS, ETC.

Every Kickstarter campaign ends with a few credit card errors. Stuff happens. Expired cards, typos, what have you. Double-check your email and spam inboxes! If your card failed to process, Kickstarter will have sent you an email letting you know, so you can fix it before the cut-off time. If it doesn't get corrected I can't send out your comics, and that would suck.

And lastly...

I'm already working on some of the SKETCH COVERS, but if you ordered an ORIGINAL ART COMMISSION, I need to know what you want me to draw! I've made a Google Form you can fill out with details, reference, etc.

Last Art Drop!

Its the LAST DAY already??!

And, as promised, I'm back with one last art drop. These two pieces are the final original art pieces I'm doing for this campaign, and they're available NOW as Add-Ons!

STRETCH GOALS!

We're only $3K away from the $65K Stretch Goal to upgrade Jae Lee's variant cover to a metallic CHROMIUM version, and I desperately want to see that happen. :) Tell your friends, and let's keep our fingers crossed for the remaining 24 HOURS!

I'M BACK from HEROES CON! Thanks so much to all the new people I met and introduced to DEATH TRANSIT TANAGER. It's the friendliest show and I met some amazing folks.

3 DAYS TO GO IN THE CAMPAIGN!

We're in the home stretch now and I'm announcing a couple of new additions to the campaign. First up...

Because I love the CHOMIUM COVER I did for the previous campaign, I thought it would be great to do another one, and this JAE LEE cover is just screaming to be shiny. :) If we make it to $65K I'll upgrade this cover to the new metallic edition, and everyone who pledges for it or adds it on to their pledge will get the new version. I hope we get there!

MINI-PRINTS!

I also realized that the 4X6 MINI PRINTS I offered in the last campaign were very popular and I forgot to include them in this one! They're a great way to get printed versions of all the covers in a postcard-sized format. Send them to your friends!

I'm making these available as ADD-ONS, so if you'd like a set, ADD THEM ON!

We're just over a week from the end of the campaign and I'm thrilled to announce that my good friend and renowned CONAN artist CARY NORD has graced us with his version of Tanager Ray on this NEW Variant Cover!

That's right! If you've pledged at the 'ALL COVERS' Reward Tier, you'll get Cary's cover included with the other covers FOR FREE! That's five comics instead of four, or NINE if you're getting ALL the covers from issues 1 & 2!
